People have asked me about my faith in this journey.  I've had people ask questions like "how can you stay so faithful during such a horrible time?", "aren't you mad at God?", "don't you question why God let this happen to you?", etc.

Here is the answer.  Jesus is my savior.  He is faithful to me and I will be faithful to Him.  Always.  In good times and in bad.  Bad things happen to people.  Our world is full of suffering.  I don't always understand why.  It's not our job to understand why.  It is our job to remain faithful to our savior.  He has blessed me beyond measure and I will not turn on Him during this difficult time in my life.  I will seek Him.  I will get on my knees and pray to Him.  He will comfort me.

People wonder how people in difficult situations cling to Him but really my questions is how do people not do that?  Without my faith, I don't know how I would get through this.  He is my comfort, my refuge, and my healer.  I will praise Him always.

A friend of mine posted this to my Facebook page the other day and I have been listening to it non-stop.  It is a song by Shane and Shane (whom I now love) talking about praising God in the storms of life.  Please listen to it.  It is so beautiful.  It also has a small excerpt from John Piper that is truth!  I hope it inspires you.

These are some of my favorite verses about illness and healing.  I hope they comfort you.

Isaiah 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Isaiah 58:8
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

Psalm 30:2
LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.

Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
